FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

General Questions
Do I need to play a sport or have prior training to start?
Absolutely not. We specialize in meeting athletes exactly where they are. Whether you are a beginner looking for a foundation or an elite athlete chasing a scholarship, our programming is scaled to your current ability and progressed as you improve.
What is the coach-to-athlete ratio?
We keep our sessions small to ensure every athlete receives personalized attention. Our coach-to-athlete ratio is never larger than 1:10.
How is this different from a regular gym or school weight room?
Standard gyms provide equipment; we provide a system. Unlike school weight rooms that often use a "one size fits all" program, CARD offers tailored programming and pro-level technology (Force Plates, Laser Timers). Our sessions also have a dedicated warm-up and speed/agility sessions that most high school sessions lack.
Training & Safety
Is weightlifting safe for younger athletes?
Yes. When supervised by professional coaches, strength training is one of the safest and most effective ways to prevent sports-related injuries. We focus on "Movement Mastery" first, perfecting bodyweight mechanics before adding external load.
What if my athlete has a nagging injury?
Communication is key! If an athlete arrives with a "tweak" or a minor injury, we don't just send them home. We adjust their volume, intensity, or modify their exercises entirely so they can continue to develop safely while rehabilitating the area. If the injury is serious enough, we will communicate directly with you and refer you to potential providers in the area.
How often should my athlete train?
For most athletes, 2–3 sessions per week is the "sweet spot" to see significant gains in speed and strength without overtraining. Our Flex Packs allow you to choose a frequency that fits your current sports season.
Technology & Progress
What is Teambuildr?
Teambuildr is our digital training platform. Every athlete gets an account where they can view their daily workouts, track their weights, and see their PR (personal record) history 24/7. It turns training into a game of beating your past self.
Why do you use Force Plates and Laser Timers?
We use Hawkins Force Plates to see exactly how much power an athlete produces and Brower Laser Timers to track speed to the hundredth of a second. This data tells us exactly what the athlete needs to work on next.
When will we see results?
Consistency is the driver of results. Most athletes see improved coordination and confidence within the first two weeks, and measurable gains in vertical jump and sprint speed during our first 4-week retesting block.
Payment & Logistics
How do the Flex Packs work?
Our 4-session and 8-session Flex Packs are designed for busy families. They expire 6 weeks after purchase, giving you the flexibility to miss a week for a tournament or school event without losing your sessions.
Can I change my membership level?
Yes. You can move between Flex Packs and Unlimited Monthly sessions as your sports seasons change. Simply manage your account through our portal at cardsperformance.ezfacility.com.
What happens if a session is full?
Our booking system operates on a first-come, first-served basis to maintain our small coach-to-athlete ratios. If a session is full, you can join the digital waitlist and you will be notified automatically if a spot opens up.
